Intersections is run entirely by UCSF medical students and is dependent on the generosity of donors to allow us to continue to provide fun and interesting opportunities for our patients. All donations will be used to directly support monthly social activities, workshops, and outings for our patient community. Along with our regular monthly activities, we take advantage of everything the Bay Area has to offer through group outings that further facilitate friendships and community bonding.
Here’s How You Can Help
A Gold donation will finance transportation and event costs for patients to experience something new and strengthen connections within the Intersections community. Additionally, the financial burden of treatment is significant and many AYA patients are forced to postpone education. In collaboration with existing cancer support foundations, a Gold donation can help patients pursuing education during or following their treatment, easing their transition to student life.
A Silver donation will go towards our monthly social events, lectures, and workshops that serve as group bonding and community building activities. This money will also go towards tablets and other electronics to be used in the hospital, which are critical for promoting group activities and maintaining connections between group members while they are hospitalized and unable to participate in the events.
Up to $250
A Bronze donation will be used for apparel, such as beanies and t-shirts, as well as gifts and materials for social events, such as yoga mats, cooking supplies, and video games, which will assist in facilitating a sense of togetherness during group activities. Gift cards are also welcome for raffle items and gifts as many of our young adults with cancer are bearing large financial burdens associated with their illnesses.
Intersections is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Your donation is tax deductible as allowed by law.
